Viaje a Barcelona:

The last week of September I went to Barcelona with robin. As I told you in the last report, we were going to visit Amel, who is living in the city centre of Barcelona. On 26th of September we took the bus from Valencia to Barcelona. It’s really cheap to travel by bus here, so this is the reason why we can afford such things, not that we are Rich suddenly.. Still students. We arrived at 11 or something so we decided not to go out, since Amel had to work the day after. She showed us her little house. It was a really cute house. Small but it has everything a girl needs. Nice roommates, a nice bathroom, cute and cozy living room and of course in the middle of Barcelona.
The next day we visited Amel at her work. She gave us a map (YES WE USED A MAP) and showed us where to go. We started with some sightseeing. We saw the cathedral and Parc Guell. It was really impressive. After this, we couldn’t wait to go shopping, so we took the first metro to the Ramblas. In the evening we had some drinks close to Amel’s house with people from the gocar team. Again, I met some really nice people! After this, we went to razzmatazz, a really cool club with 4 floors or something. The music was great! Finally something else, because in Valencia you will only hear salsa and reggaeton in the clubs. We went here with those crazy girls, Sandra and Larisa. Unfortunately, Sterre (the roommate of Amel) couldn’t join us because she had to work the next day. Talking about the day after.. we stayed in bed until we were hungry. So, we didn’t really saw something of Barcelona this day. Amel said: If you want to do something. GO. I’m staying here! That sounded more that great for us actually.

In the evening we had some drinks on a really nice terrace with Amel and Sterre. We did this because we didn’t want to make it too late. Well after a few wine.. It was already 3 o’clock.

Our last day, Amel arranged us a gocar for free. She showed us around in Barcelona with this little car. We did this for an hour, because we had to leave to Valencia again this day. It was a really short visit but we all enjoyed it! In 2 weeks the girls will come and see Valencia =D

Visitantes:

October was a really busy month for all of us. We had a lot of visitors, including my parents, Lisa and Anne. The 10th of October my parents arrived at the Airport. It was really strange to see them here. Since they arrived in the evening, we only went out for diner at the beach. The first night they were staying at my place, also a bit strange to have your parents as a guest in your house, haha. At friday I went to the hotel of my parents. It looked really nice and was located in the city centre. We did some shopping (Still cannot believe how my parents were able to take all those new clothes back to Holland). We went to the zoo on saturday. There is a big popular zoo in Valencia so we thought it was nice to go there. In the end I can say my dad had a lot of fun with the animals and his camera. My mom and I were actually done after 2 hours:)
The other days we just enjoyed the food, drinks, city and the time we had together. Iza, a girl from my school in Maastricht, was also in Valencia during those days. She was sleeping at Merve’s place, who lives directly on the beach. On monday we spent the day with the 3 of us. It was a really nice day and it we fully enjoyed it.

On tuesday I had to say goodbye again to my parents and Iza, which was a bit hard for me. Luckily I could look forward to the days that would follow. The morning after my sister and Anne, a friend of her from café de Buren, arrived in Valencia. Because we still have the 30 degrees, t-shirts, ice creams and sunglasses here, we immediately went to the Beach after we had breakfast (MADE BY ME). In the evening I took them to 100 Montaditos, the tapas bar where everything is for 1 euro. We had to go early otherwise there would be no seats anymore, since wednesday is a student night (so all the students have the good idea to have some more beers for one euro). My planning was to take them to the salsa class after this, but we were kind of lost after 1 hour of walking :$

On Jueves we went to the beach again and in the evening we went out for diner at Papardella. NICE. In this way I have enough excuses to go to the nice restaurants really often =D (they saw me 4 times last week). We went home after diner (= 00.00 in Spain) because we had to get up early the next day. We hired 6 scooters with a couple of friends of Ward, a friend I met here in Valencia. We wanted to go to El Saler, which is a really nice beach in the south of Valencia. We finally got there in the afternoon, but I can say that the trip was really interesting. In the evening we had diner at our favorite tapas bar and after that we took the cab to a Dutch bar. We didn’t celebrate the birthday of Dineke yet so we did this here with BITTERBALLEN and drinks. Everybody was into his BITTERBAL instead of talking to each other though. After this, we continued the party in TB club. Even though we were tired on saturday, we shopped the whole day. In the evening we went out again but after 20 min we left again. The last day we went to MacDonald's followed by a smoothie to compensate. In the evening we watched a movie. It was really nice to see them here even though it was only for a few days!

¡Hasta pronto y muchos besos!
